Frequently Asked Questions

Just a few of the more often asked questions! (we hope these help)

Why shouldn’t I just use Facetime, Facebook Live, or Youtube from a phone? Why should I hire you?

For informal settings or purposes, these free platforms work ok some of the time. But for an important event like a wedding, funeral services, Corporate events, or really anything more than a quick chat, using a phone or computer webcam just is not a good or reliable option. For one, many phones and computer webcams have issues with sound, latency, and image quality. They struggle to focus or produce quality images in challenging lighting conditions, have poor battery life, and have issues with stability of the connection. The last thing you want during your event is for your stream to go down because the phone died or lost its internet connection.

Our services are not for everyone, we get it. But for those that want their viewers to have the best viewing experience for this extremely important event, our services, can ensure that your virtual guests have the best seat in the house, without interruption, and without annoyances.

Also, when we provide service it frees up you and your in-person guests to enjoy the day, be present at the event, and not worry about technical issues or managing the live stream.

What are the venue requirements?

In order to properly setup, test, and prepare for your event, we need access to the event venue at least 2 1/2 hours before guests start to arrive. We will need the venue manager’s cooperation in order to bring in the necessary equipment required to provide the highest caliber production. If your venue manager or wedding / Event planner have any questions, feel free to reach out!

What are the internet connectivity requirements?

For best results, a high-speed wired internet connection is suggested. Video streaming doesn’t work extremely well over wifi, so we really need to run a cable from our equipment to the venue’s router or switch, and we need un-throttled internet upload speeds of at least 10 Mbps (20 Mbps preferred). Again, we’re happy to work with your venue management to get what we need! This typically is not an issue at all.

If wired internet access is not available, we do have another option. We can use cellular internet modems when in a location without hardline internet access. This option is a little bit more and isn’t as reliable as a hardline connection however we do use this option often with great success!

How do viewers see the stream? What platform is used?

Due to various copyright and legal considerations, we use a Professional dedicated platform to stream your Event. This platform is more stable and allows for recorded music to play on the stream, such as procession and recessional music or any other music played during your event. We will provide you with a website link to share with your guests. They can then easily log on with one simple click and view the stream live! If they can click on a link they can view your Livestream, it’s really that easy! We do also recommend letting your guests know best practices to enhance their viewing experience such as plugging a laptop or mobile device into a big screen TV via HDMI cable.

Can you also stream our event to Facebook or YouTube?

Of course! However, beware that these platforms strictly enforce copyright violations. If you are using recorded music or even if a band is playing music during your event, there is an extremely high percentage chance that your stream will be shut down while in progress. We recommend that you post the link to your Livestream (which we will provide you) on your event website or simply send it via email and or text.

Is my privacy respected and protected?

Absolutely yes! The link to view your Livestream will only be shared with you and any other guests that you’d like to provide it to.

If you are streaming to YouTube or Facebook as well, please note that we cannot control the privacy settings on those platforms. Contact us for more information if these platforms are to be used.

What are the terms to secure your services?

We require a signed agreement at the time of booking with a 50% nonrefundable retainer. The remaining 50% is due and payable 14 days prior to your event date. If your event date changes or the plans otherwise change, we’ll do our best to reschedule our services to your new date, or change the location or terms based on your needs If your event is within 15 days of of the date you are booking we do require 100% of the total paid.

Everything is easily done electronically via our client portal system. You will receive your overview of services, invoices, contract and any communication via your own dedicated portal!

How discreet are your services? Will there be wires and cameras everywhere?

We strive to be as discreet as possible! We use the very best wireless audio and video technology to eliminate any unnecessary wires! We will setup out of the way of guests, and hopefully as out of site as possible. We do need to be within a few hundred feet of the event for our broadcast equipment, and of course our cameras need to be close enough to see and capture the event effectively. But we will not be intrusive in anyway. Our years of experience filming weddings, large corporate events, commercials and much more have helped us to be as discreet as possible!

I have a wedding photographer. Will this impede them?

Absolutely not. Keep in mind that we do also offer this service and are the preferred Professional Photography company at many of the areas best venues! If you are good to go with a photographer rest assured, we work closely with all wedding vendors to ensure an absolutely seamless process for you. Since we have multiple camera angles, if a photographer obstructs one of our cameras temporarily, we’ll just cut to another angle until he or she is finished in that area. Conversely, we’ll set up our gear so that it’s not in your photographer’s way.

I have a wedding videographer. How does this affect their work?

Okay, there are certain aspects of our work that might overlap with a videographer’s work but it’s no problem at all. We’ll do our best to coordinate everything with that person in advance so that we can share duties such as microphones on certain participants, locations for cameras, etc. You can certainly still have a videographer AND have us stream your wedding without a problem. We are as professional of a team as you will find and always value working with others!

One thing to keep in mind is that our live streaming service is not necessarily a replacement for videography services. Good wedding videographers film with multiple people throughout the day in different locations, grabbing cinematic shots, and editing a compelling narrative video. Our LiveStream service is more static — fixed locations, fixed camera angles, and specific schedules for a broadcast. If you’re not sure whether or not you need videography or a live streaming solution, feel free to contact us to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of each.  Keep in mind, we do often provide both services for many of our clients. That’s right! We also offer amazing cinematic videography and are the preferred vendor at most of the areas best venues! Please let us know if we can help here also.
